BARRIERS TO GOSPEL ACCESS
Jesus came to bring salvation to the whole world. The gospel is for everyone!
Yet for unreached people, significant barriers exist to accessing the gospel, Christian teaching and the local church. In fact, they often face a combination of barriers.

LANGUAGE - The lack of opportunity to hear the gospel presented in their own language is arguably the biggest barrier for unreached people.

CULTURE – Not having Christian resources that communicate biblical teaching in culturally sensitive and relevant ways is a significant disadvantage for sharing the gospel and discipling new believers.

LOCATION – Those living in remote and isolated areas are far removed from local churches and have limited access to Christian teaching.

ILLITERACY – Many living in places where the Church’s presence is very limited or nonexistent cannot read, making print material irrelevant. They are also predominantly oral learners who learn best through stories.

RESTRICTIONS – Laws, religious persecution and hostile social pressures reduce access to Christian resources and represent increased safety risks for those desiring to gather for worship.
REACHING HARD PLACES
Geography, history, culture, economics and politics can create hard circumstances, both individually and in communities.
However, regardless of the difficulties they face, together we can help people experience a meaningful relationship with God.
Through media and technology, we can reach into the hardest places of the world, and open new doors to the gospel. In response to those reaching out, we can share resources, offer encouragement and connect them with local believers – because life is meant to be lived in community.

REACHING HIDDEN PLACES Everyone should have access to the gospel, no matter where they are. We share the hope of the gospel with and provide fellowship to those who are isolated due to geography, culture or simply where access to Christianity is limited.
Portable devices and digital resources enable us to reach these corners of the world in a cost-effective and culturally appropriate way, providing access anytime anywhere. Radio allows us to cross inaccessible borders and terrain. We also equip church leaders to disciple others in these hidden places.
Using technology and through small groups and house churches, people can access God’s grace and grow in faith, knowing the truth of life and being reminded that they are not alone. |
REACHING HOSTILE PLACES
Where Christian believers face persecution and restrictions, we provide safe and accessible means for them to hear the gospel, be discipled and grow in faith.
Technology allows for safe and discreet access to Christian resources and provides a way to reach out to other believers.
Discipleship conferences held in safe locations provide believers living in hostile environments with fellowship opportunities and help them to grow spiritually while sharing the burdens of a life lived in an environment hostile to their Christian faith. |
