In places like Burundi, many people are carrying more than their share of worry. Each day challenges like unemployment, economic decline, and poverty, leave people searching for hope.
While many people in Burundi would call themselves Christians, there is often little opportunity for discipleship or deeper growth. Resources in local languages are limited, places to gather and worship together are scarce, leaving many searching for direction and support.
Media is Making a Difference
This is where media is making a difference. Through radio, digital content and small group gatherings, people are hearing the message of Jesus in ways that connect with their daily lives. It is not distant or difficult to understand. It is shared in their own language, in the middle of real questions and real needs.
Because of the financial support of Canadians, TWR Canada is partnering with TWR Burundi to share radio programming and digital resources extending the reach and providing vital messages of hope to more people. In 2021, the TWR Burundi office and broadcast studio, funded by TWR Canada was completed and while not only providing a place to create radio programming, but the building also provides crucial meeting spaces so church and community members can come and grow in faith together.
Grateful for Partnerships
In 2026, to honour the more than three-decade partnership, TWR Canada resumed fully funding the production, administration, digital media, airtime and audience relations of the Good News for All broadcast. This program provides encouraging messages of grace and reconciliation through God’s Word and is broadcast on National Radio and social media, extending the reach to not only those in Burundi but to people in parts of neighbouring countries as well.
We thank God for the donors, churches and businesses who continue to stand with us. Together, we are reaching people in places that are often overlooked.
We may never meet many of the listeners or digital users, but through media, we are present with them. And that is where everything can begin to change. In those moments, hope is finding its way in.
