There are moments when I sit quietly and think about where we serve. Places around the world where people are experiencing economic hardships, isolation, war, trauma and violence. Locations where faith must be lived with caution, and where people deal with restrictions to accessing biblical resources every day.

As a ministry, TWR Canada has been given a clear calling: to assist the Church in making disciples of all people by sharing Christ through media around the world. We go where others cannot. For over 50 years, TWR Canada has been serving in some of the hardest-to-reach areas around the world because God has opened doors through media and through people willing to say yes.

Since taking over the role of CEO in early 2025, I have seen how something as simple as a radio broadcast change the life of a person. One listener shared that while he was wrongly imprisoned, he began listening to a TWR Canada supported radio program. In his despair, he cried out to God. The following day, he was unexpectedly released. To me, this testimony serves as a powerful remainder of what God can do.

In some of the hardest places, people are searching for answers. They are searching to understand, find purpose and discover who God is. Many have never held a Bible. Yet, when given the opportunity to hear biblical teaching and Scripture in their own language, they listen, learn and begin to follow Jesus.

Our role is not to force anything but to be present and offer access. We trust that God will do what only He can do. Over time, I have come to appreciate that media is not just a way to communicate. In many of the places we serve, it is one of the few ways people can consistently access biblical teaching, be encouraged in their faith and remain connected to other believers. We use the tools God has given us including radio broadcasts that travel great distances, digital content that reaches remote regions, and partnerships with local believers who understand their communities far better than we ever could.

But the work is not easy and there are barriers. Many of the places we serve in, restrict access to discipleship resources, Christian fellowship or public declarations of faith. There are days when progress feels slow and uncertain. But even in those moments, we are reminded that the gospel has always moved forward in difficult places.

I often think about the early church. They didn’t have technology, but they had courage. They carried the message from one place to another, trusting God with each step. In many ways, we are continuing that same mission, using different tools but holding onto the same hope. One verse I return to often is Mark 16:15.

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

This isn’t a suggestion; it’s an invitation to participate in something far bigger!

As CEO, I have the privilege of seeing both the big picture and the individual stories. The strategy matters, but the people matter more. The listener who hears truth for the first time, the family that gathers to pray or the small community who finds hope where there was none.

This is why TWR Canada continues to invite others to partner with us through prayer and financial support. Together, we can help ensure that people living in hard, hidden and hostile place can hear the Gospel in a way they can understand and access. We remain committed to serving the unreached across the globe, trusting that God will continue to open doors and draw people to Himself.
