Transforming Lives for Christ

In our latest appeal, TWR Canada President Dan Reese shares stories from around the world that beautifully display how God is working through the ministry of TWR Canada.

Dear Friends,

As 2022 draws to a close in just a few weeks, I am reflecting on the great privilege it has been to witness what God has done through the ministry of TWR Canada and those who partner with us. John 1:14 tells us that “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth” (ESV). This verse is one we hear more frequently at this time of year, but we see this play out all through the year from all corners of the world: people are coming to know and understand the identity of Jesus and his glory. God is at work changing lives!

A member of a radio home group in Bangladesh discovered the power and protection of Jesus: “Every Sunday, my radio home group listens to a program together. For the past few weeks, we have been listening to John 6. This chapter describes one of Jesus’s miracles, where Jesus walks on water. I had heard this story before but listening to it on the media player taught me something new. I now understand that Jesus is God and possesses all power. I have more faith in Jesus now, and I know he will protect me.”

A listener in Burundi turned to Jesus and found freedom from sin: “Thank you for the program Good News for All. I used to commit many sins. Last Saturday, you called for people to believe in Jesus. I believed and since then my desire to sin has evaporated. Jesus is in me and I am free!”

In Ukraine, people are finding peace in Christ through the messages shared by TWR on social media: “Thank you for such a strong word. For those who are in Christ, there is no fear, only peace and calm. When I hear the explosions, I have no fear but am filled with peace and tranquility that only comes from Christ. Praise God!”

These few stories represent thousands more that we received this year. They warm my heart, and I hope they warm yours too. Perhaps you can think of some examples in your family, church or community of the ways God is at work! Maybe you have seen him working in your own life. In Christ, we are united with believers around the world. Our situations may be different, but God works in our lives just the same.

Praise God for this life-changing work! I am grateful for the partnership of people like you who faithfully invest their God-given resources to help us reach the world for Christ through media.

Together, we can speak hope to the world so that others experience the life change which we have experienced. Together, we can transform lives for Christ through media content, training and technology.
