God’s Work Behind the Scenes

God’s Work Behind the Scenes

This summer, TWR Eswatini received an exciting award from the Eswatini Revenue Services for tax compliance. Read more about how the behind-the-scenes work that our missionaries and transmitter site staff complete is integral to effectively sharing the gospel!

Have you ever worked on a project where it felt like your efforts were unnoticed and you wondered why you started the task in the first place? Perhaps, at that moment, you needed recognition for your efforts or a thoughtful demonstration of appreciation to motivate you to continue the work. At TWR Canada, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do or be who we are without our missionaries working behind the scenes to share the hope of the gospel. For our missionaries, the administrative and technical work required to get broadcasts out and programs distributed requires efforts that are often unseen and not always recognized or celebrated as they deserve. So, this week, we are shining a light on missionaries Greg and Ingrid Clarke, who serve at the remote TWR transmitter site in Eswatini. Read on to learn more about how God has blessed these years of piling paperwork and behind-the-scenes efforts!

This past June, TWR Eswatini received the inaugural award from the Eswatini Revenue Services for tax compliance. The ERS has recently been looking for new ways to encourage businesses to become tax-compliant in the country. One of the ways they have chosen to do this is to recognize businesses across the entire size and industry spectrum that are tax-compliant.

At the inaugural awards ceremony, TWR Eswatini was awarded as the highest contributor for small companies in the information and communications sector. This award reflects the hard work and high standards of Ingrid Clarke and the finance team. They have been working tirelessly to ensure compliance with the ERS and maintain high standards in their work, reflecting Christlike business behaviour.

The ceremony was attended by many industry leaders in Eswatini, along with the finance minister and other members of the local government. This is a notable achievement and we give thanks for Ingrid and her team's diligence and hard work in this. The behind-the-scenes work that our missionaries and transmitter site staff complete is integral to effectively sharing the gospel. Praise God for shining a light on these efforts!

As we acknowledge the hard work of the Clarkes and their team, we reflect on Philippians 4:8-9: “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me — practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you” (ESV). We may not always see how God is at work, nor recognize the efforts of his people who build his kingdom through these efforts, but we know that the impact of our missionaries and the teams on the ground will be fully revealed once our God calls all his people together.
