Please join us in praying for…

TWR Canada’s Training

Around the world, pastors and church leaders don’t have the same opportunities we have in Canada to grow in faith and leadership. By partnering with the Church in training, we build a stronger global Church, helping local churches better grow in faith and reach their communities with the hope of Christ.

1. Pray that Leadership Essentials would help small group leaders across the Middle East and North Africa be better equipped to lead.
2. Pray for the many Chinese pastors and church leaders who attend training seminars, workshops, and other events in Canada and online. Pray that what they learn would strengthen their ministries and build up healthy churches.
3. Pray for God’s protection over online platforms which are used by Christians for training and fellowship, particularly in parts of the world where it may be unsafe to gather in person.
4. Persian ministry conferences allow believers to gather safely for fellowship and Bible teaching. Pray for a time of nourishment and refreshment for attendees.
5. Pray for our TWR Women of Hope coordinator in Mali, Jeanne, as she speaks at conferences and events on topics such as family dynamics, the education of children, and emotional pain.

TWR Canada’s Chinese Ministry

Our Chinese ministry includes SOTA, our 3-4 year seminary program for the Chinese church, as well as other ministry initiatives including Discipleship Essentials, Bible Stories Alive, and training events for Chinese church leaders.

6. Please pray that more brothers and sisters would enroll in the SOTA program to better equip churches across China.
7. Though the Chinese ministry has begun implementing DE, they are doing so carefully. Please pray for wisdom to determine the best strategy to share this resource in 2023.
8. As we prepare to release an app containing the Bible Stories Alive books in Mandarin, please pray that these stories would grow the faith of children and families as they read and listen.
9. Pray for SOTA missionaries to find encouragement through the missionary fellowships. Many have had to leave their mission fields to return to their hometowns because of COVID-19, political, health or family issues.
10. Praise God for our new SOTA student who serves in Nepal and a missionary couple from a new SOTA centre who have recently joined the missionary fellowship!
11. Pray for the preparation of new SOTA courses. Pray that the instructors will receive wisdom and strength from the Holy Spirit to develop course materials according to the needs of the students.
12. Praise God that despite the ongoing pressures from the government, the Chinese ministry team can still minister to those in their network.

TWR Canada’s Discipleship Essentials

Discipleship Essentials is available in more than 15 languages and is used by individuals for personal study and in thousands of small groups in Canada and around the world.

13. Praise God for the DE radio program, broadcast in Spanish across Latin America and the Caribbean, and in French across West Africa. In both languages, this is a much-loved program. Praise God for the spiritual growth occurring in the lives of listeners!
14. Please pray for the continued translation and production in Spanish, Hausa and Indonesian. Pray for the translation and production teams, as well as for those who will use these resources.
15. Praise God that the full set of resources in Amharic and Vietnamese are now available online! Pray that these would be a blessing to people as they grow in faith.
16. TWR Canada missionary, McDaniel Phillips, works with our DE champions around the world. Pray for him as he supports the champions in their work.
17. Pray for DE champion Elena in the Philippines. She shares DE and trains church leaders through the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of the Philippines. Praise God for the growth in faith we are seeing as church leaders are trained and receive resources.
18. Pray for DE champion Mamdouh as he leads Together Network across the Middle East and North Africa, training believers to share their faith and create spiritual movements using DE and other resources.
19. Using DE in China means a shift to discussion-based small groups, which requires training leaders in a new way of leading. Pray that DE will equip more Christians to serve the Kingdom.

TWR Canada’s Ministry in Latin America and the Caribbean

Broadcast from the island of Bonaire, TWR programming can be heard across much of northern Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as from local FM stations. Local teams also share the hope of the gospel through on-the-ground initiatives in their communities.

20. Praise God that RTM Cuba has been able to provide many resources digitally to the listeners who request them! Pray that those sent by mail are received as the postal system in Cuba continues to be almost non-existent.
21. The team at RTM Cuba continues to write and produce Messages of Faith and Hope and Our Home, which are broadcast from the Bonaire transmitter. Pray for all those listening across Cuba, seeking hope and encouragement in the midst of an economic crisis.
22. Pray that God would provide RTM Cuba ministry leader Alberto with encouragement, wisdom and strength as he leads the ministry.
23. Pray for plans to translate a subset of DE into Peruvian Quechua. There are few, if any, discipleship resources available in this language.
24. TWR Canada missionaries Henry and Anna Penner, along with their children, are returning to Canada at the end of the year. Pray for them as they wrap up their ministry in Bolivia.
25. In Uruguay, the program Against the Current encourages young adults to listen to God’s voice and direction. Pray that those listening would stand firm in their faith when culture challenges them to do otherwise.
26. Pray for the RTM Colombia team as they continue to seek an office space. This will allow the team to work more collaboratively and centralize their program production and distribution.

TWR Canada’s Women’s Ministry

TWR Canada’s ministry to women includes TWR Women of Hope, which equips women around the world to understand the Word of God, grow in faith and discover the hope of Jesus.

27. Pray for the Women of Hope programming that provides both spiritual and practical teachings for women. Praise God for the change in listeners’ lives and communities as a result of this program!
28. Praise God for the husbands who are also encouraged by Women of Hope. As they learn to love Jesus more, they become more sensitive and loving towards their wives and families, and households become safer and happier!
29. Around the world, thousands of women pray for the ministry of TWR Women of Hope each month. Thank God for these faithful prayer warriors.
30. Jeanne is the TWR Women of Hope coordinator in Mali. Because of the impact of the ministry in Mali, she has been invited to speak at churches and conferences in Burkina Faso and Guinea. Praise God!
