50 Years of Ministry

TWR Canada is celebrating our 50^th anniversary this year! From our early days of missionary sending and radio broadcasting to an expansive ministry around the globe, we are praising God for the many ways we have seen him speak hope to the world!

1. Praise God for on-the-ground partnerships around the world that enable us to share the gospel and disciple believers.
2. TWR Canada’s Persian ministry is our longest-running ministry. Praise God for the over 40 years we have been speaking hope to the Persian-speaking world.
3. Praise God for how he enables us to share his Word with the world in heart languages. What a blessing it is to hear from listeners, “I didn’t know God spoke my language!”
4. As we mark 50 years of TWR Canada’s ministry today, join us in praising God for his faithfulness!

TWR Canada’s Women’s Ministry

TWR Canada’s ministry to women includes TWR Women of Hope, which equips women around the world to understand the Word of God, grow in faith and discover the hope of Jesus.

5. Around the world, thousands of women pray for the ministry of TWR Women of Hope each month. Praise God for these faithful prayer warriors!
6. Praise God for Susie Pek, former TWR Women of Hope regional coordinator for Latin America, who became TWR Women of Hope’s global leader in February! Pray that Susie’s passion for God’s love and healing for women will encourage a new audience in her new role.
7. Pray for the listeners of Women of Hope programming across West Africa. Thank God for the lives changed through spiritual and practical teachings!
8. On this International Women’s Day, praise God for the ways in which TWR Women of Hope encourages and trains women around the world in both spiritual and practical matters.
9. Pray for Jeanne, TWR Women of Hope coordinator in Mali, as she plans for and speaks at churches and conferences in her own and surrounding countries.
10. Pray for the TWR Canada women’s ministry team to see and carry out new opportunities for sharing the hope of Jesus with women across our country and around the world.
11. TWR Canada missionary Jonathan Griffiths is a consultant with TWR Women of Hope. Pray for him and the global leadership team as they strategize and make plans for the future.

TWR Canada’s Ministry in Africa

From radio broadcasts to capital projects to on-the-ground ministry and the work of missionaries, our reach across Africa is vast, just like the region.

12. In West Africa, the Discipleship Essentials radio program serves French-speaking communities. Praise God for anchoring these listeners in their faith and propelling them to follow in the footsteps and attributes of Jesus.
13. Pray for TWR Canada missionaries Nathan and Megan Dunlop as they continue their work in South Africa. Pray for Nathan as he works on the Legacy of Adam video project throughout 2023 and for Megan as she supports the missionary children in South Africa.
14. Pray for Stephen and Teresa Murray, TWR Canada missionaries serving in South Africa. Stephen is the director of technical services and Teresa provides member care for the staff and team. Pray for wisdom and direction for both Stephen and Teresa in their roles.
15. Pray that God would work through our two programs in Burundi, Good News for All and Jesus is the Answer, to continue changing the lives of listeners.
16. Eswatini has experienced several periods of political unrest over the past few years. Pray for TWR Canada missionaries Greg and Ingrid Clarke as they navigate these periods with the staff and other missionaries at the transmitting site in Eswatini.
17. In Kenya, Bible Stories Alive continues to have a profound effect on the lives of children! Pray that the children could continue to visit the radio stations where they participate in the program and share poems, riddles, songs and stories.
18. Pray for the teams on the ground who are developing new and creative ways to share the gospel and disciple believers in the best ways for their communities across Africa.
    
    

TWR Canada’s Chinese Ministry

Our Chinese ministry includes SOTA, our 3-4 year seminary program for the Chinese church, as well as other ministry initiatives including Discipleship Essentials, Bible Stories Alive, and training events for Chinese church leaders.

19. Praise God for over 10 years of SOTA! Thank God that over 30 on-leave students resumed their studies as a result of last year’s annual bachelor’s degree graduation ceremony!
20. Pray for SOTA missionaries to find encouragement through the missionary fellowship gatherings. Many have had to leave their mission fields to return to their hometowns because of COVID-19, political, health or family issues.
21. As we complete the production of all Bible Stories Alive stories in Mandarin, we are preparing to release a dedicated app containing the stories. Pray that God will use these stories to nurture Chinese children.
22. Though the Chinese ministry has begun implementing DE, they are doing so carefully. Please pray for wisdom to determine the best strategy to share this resource.
23. Praise God for an increase in registration numbers in different SOTA fellowships and courses. Pray that the students would be encouraged by each other and motivated to learn.
24. Despite ongoing pressures from the government, the Chinese ministry team can still minister to those in their network. Praise God for the technology to maintain studies and the ability to connect with one another online.
25. Pray for the preparation of new SOTA courses. Pray that the instructors will receive wisdom and strength from the Holy Spirit to develop course materials according to the needs of the students.

TWR Canada’s Training

Around the world, pastors and church leaders don’t have the same opportunities we have in Canada to grow in faith and leadership. By partnering with the Church in training, we build a stronger global Church, helping local churches grow in faith and reach their communities with the hope of Christ.

26. Persian ministry conferences allow believers to gather safely for fellowship and Bible teaching. Pray that these conferences are a time of nourishment and refreshment for attendees.
27. Pray that Leadership Essentials would help small group leaders across the Middle East, North Africa and the Philippines be better equipped to lead.
28. Praise God for providing online platforms Christians can use for training and fellowship, particularly in parts of the world where it may be unsafe to gather in person.
29. Pray for the many Chinese pastors and church leaders who attend training seminars, workshops, and other events in Canada and online. Pray that what they learn would strengthen their ministries and build up healthy churches.
30. Across India and Bangladesh, radio home group leaders are trained using Discipleship Essentials. Pray that they will effectively take what they learn and teach it to those in their radio home groups.
31. Pray for the production of CultureCross, a tool for the Canadian church to assist Christians in knowing how to share the gospel with people of other cultures.
