Friends, many in West Africa cling to fetishes or turn to their local witchdoctors to save them, help them, or heal their deepest needs. Others depend on their local religious beliefs to carry them through dark times. Fear is a constant companion and the common thread in most of these stories.
Reaching across this darkness, fear and hopelessness, TWR is engaging the people of West Africa with radio programs to bring peace. Relevant, culturally sensitive programs bring hope to the seeker, encouragement to the new believer, and discipleship for the growing Christian.
The people of West Africa teach their children and share their history through stories. It's an oral culture. Radio is a very effective tool to reach these groups with programs such as Women of Hope, Salvation and Evangelism, and Light and Life. People groups with little to no access to the Gospel are hearing refreshing words in their own language, and they are listening.
"Your program always gives courage to mothers and shows them how to love and care for their children," says a mother from Nigeria.
"Your messages are undiluted," says a West African pastor. "Where we miss the point, TWR is doing it."
Please pray especially for the Kanuri, Yoruba, Lukpa, Hausa, and other people groups missionaries say have a hard time listening. Pray the signal stays strong, and that hearts would be opened to the message of the gospel.
