Charles Price Visits Persian Ministry Conference

Earlier this year Ray Alary joined Charles Price of The Peoples Church in Toronto in Central Asia for a Persian Ministry Conference. We hold this conference in an undisclosed area for security reasons, but people travel twenty to thirty hours (plus time spent at border crossings) to attend. They are starving for spiritual teaching and fellowship – things that are forbidden in their home country.

For many years, Charles Price’s weekly Sunday sermons have been broadcast in Persian into Iran. Some of his books have also been translated and printed in Persian. This was Pastor Price's first conference and he was very well received. He taught on the first eight chapters of Romans and graciously answered numerous questions at the end of each class. We were most grateful that Pastor Price took time out of his busy schedule to teach and hope this can happen again.

      Persian Testimony

Mo became a follower of Jesus and shared his faith with others. Both his family and the authorities pressured him to recant and deny his faith in Jesus. When they failed, Mo was arrested and imprisoned. His crime: becoming a Christian and leading a house church. Mo was devastated and spiritually very weak. He wondered why God had not protected him from prison.

In the cell, Mo shared about his situation with the other prisoners. His cell mates introduced him to another inmate, Hassan. Hassan was scheduled to be executed by hanging for killing his wife. Hassan had been a terrible man and cursed everyone he met, but had become a Christian. Now, he no longer complained, no longer took drugs to get to sleep. He was happy and even a source of comfort to others.

Hassan shared with Mo that he’d been taken to the prison Mosque for prayers. Instead, Hassan played with a radio he found there and by accident found a Christian radio program. God used that program to transform his life. Hassan was able to comfort and encourage Mo and pray with him. Mo was released from prison after three months.
