Many people who are familiar with our ministry know that TWR has a vast infrastructure around the world. Over the past 60 years of ministry, God has enabled us to build a global network that can reach approximately two-thirds of the world in their own language.

And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, ‘Let us rise up and build.’ So they strengthened their hands for the good work.” Nehemiah 2:18, (ESV)

If you asked most people what this network looks like, they would probably say radio stations and towers. Indeed, TWR’s radio broadcast area is huge. Through super-powered transmitters, such as in West Africa that reaches over nine countries, to smaller stations that only reach into a particular area, a significant portion of the world can turn on their radio and hear a message of hope through TWR’s broadcasts.

But what most people don’t realize is that TWR’s network goes far beyond the transmitters and towers, even beyond the generators, offices and studios where programs are created. It includes local Sri Lankans who translate and contextualize the programs for their own people group. It includes Cuban pastors and counsellors who create programs based on helping listeners understand their value in God’s eyes. It includes TWR Women of Hope prayer group coordinators in East Africa who meet weekly with ladies in their neighbourhoods, praying and encouraging them. It includes theologians and pastors in China who mark assignments and answer questions for Seminary on the Air students as they prepare to become the next church leaders.

TWR’s network also includes the myriad churches that follow-up with listeners, providing opportunities for listeners to ask questions and get involved in a local body of believers. It includes the local pastors and TWR staff who connect with listeners, sometimes through phone, email or mail and other times travelling to visit with them face to face.

Together, all these ways – radio towers, offices, studios, people, volunteers and churches – form an extensive network around the globe, a system of relationships, partnerships and infrastructure that continues to grow as TWR strives to reach more and more people with the hope of Christ.

Areas where TWR Canada’s Network is Expanding:

In West Africa, TWR is negotiating a licence to build a second transmitter that would allow us to reach out to the nation of Nigeria, home to over 190 million people. Our transmitter will be directionally focused to the North of the country where the majority of people are practicing Islam.

Throughout the Middle East, we are conducting Discipleship Essentials training sessions, teaching church and ministry leaders to disciple others. Through these sessions and representatives who provide training and follow-up,
over 3000 discipleship groups are using the Discipleship Essentials curriculum.

Our conference centre in Central Asia provides Persian-speaking believers the rare opportunity to join with other believers and receive biblical teaching. Two years ago, TWR Canada built an additional building on the property, allowing more people to attend conferences. Not only has this allowed more Persian-speakers to be accommodated at conferences, we have also been able to assist other Christian organizations who reach out to believers in the area.

These initiatives were recently featured in our Christmas gift catalogue. Previous 'E-updates' from our gift catalogue have included Evangelism, Discipleship, Men, Women and Children, Canadian Churches and Missionaries. If you haven’t read them, we invite you to go back and take a look.
