    Praying for Women in Ministry

The Bible, church history, and records of cross-cultural ministry include many testimonies of women who were active in God’s work. Women sacrificially and courageously started and served in church, education, medical, orphanage, and other ministries around the globe. Women continue to confidently answer God’s call to leave family and comforts and to serve with the assurance that the Holy Spirit is their guide and protector.

More than 400 women serve on staff or as volunteers with TWR Women of Hope. They faithfully serve God by allowing him to use their hands, feet, hearts, minds, and words to bring others into a closer relationship with their Creator and Saviour. These women sacrificially give of their time, energy, belongings, and knowledge so that others can improve their lives and provide a better future for their families. Many of the women serving around the globe experience threats, danger, diseases, and ridicule. Finding other Christians who enthusiastically support and pray for them is often one of their major challenges.

Women in ministry gladly serve in their own communities and in faraway countries. Some serve in many of the world’s most difficult places. Wherever they serve, they need others to come alongside them.

Please join us in praying for women in ministry.

“On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favour granted us in answer to the prayers of many” (2 Corinthians 1:9-11).
    Please pray for …

    1. TWR Women of Hope’s 400+ staff and volunteers who reach out to women through prayer and media programs in more than 70 languages.

    2. Wisdom and strength for women in ministry as they respond to the needs of their families, church members, communities, and workplaces.

    3. Women in ministry who need biblical teachings about the personal and family issues they face daily. Pray they will have opportunities to listen to TWR radio programs and to receive leadership training to prepare them for service to God and others.

    4. Christian mothers to speak words of love and encouragement to their children, modeling for them how to honour God in all that they do and say, empowering them to be all that they can be for God. Pray for wisdom and patience as they face challenges and for their responses and reactions to reflect their integrity and dignity in Christ.

    5. Christian women who courageously minister to those who are persecuted, tortured, imprisoned, or in danger of being killed in Afghanistan, Algeria, Central Asia, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, India, Iran, Kenya, Nepal, North Korea, Pakistan, Somalia, Turkey, Vietnam, and other countries. Pray that God will strengthen his followers and use their faith and suffering to draw others to himself.

    6. The thousands of prayer-group leaders around the world as they encourage tens of thousands of intercessors approaching God’s throne in behalf of women around the globe. Pray they will faithfully honour God in their daily activities and conversations.

    7. Wisdom for those working with young women in the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and other countries where modern culture negatively influences their choices of clothes, entertainment, and relationships.

    8. TWR Women of Hope ladies visiting, encouraging, and teaching prisoners in Albania, Angola, Brazil, Cambodia, Indonesia, Namibia, Nepal, Paraguay, South Africa, Tanzania, Thailand, and other countries.

    9. Women who are working in foreign countries to be wise and sensitive to the local culture, showing respect for the people while trying to understand their challenges.

    10. Our Creator to strengthen women serving Christ and the church around the world, making them strong and healthy. Many of these dear servants live in nearly unbearable heat or cold, have limited food and clean water, and travel on unsafe roads.

    11. Christian women in China, India, Korea, and other countries to wait patiently for God’s provision of mature Christian men as potential husbands. Pray that there will be more ministries that reach out to men, bringing them to a true commitment to Christ and teaching them to become faithful in their daily activities.

    12. Christian women in Haiti, India, Cote d’Ivoire, Mozambique, Nepal, and other countries reaching out to those who face crippling poverty and oppressive cultures.

    13. Women serving refugees in Austria, Ethiopia, Germany, Greece, Jordon, Kenya, Sweden, Turkey, and other countries, offering them friendship, showing them God’s love, and providing MP3 players with audio programs teaching them the truth about God.

    14. Safety for single women in ministry and for their unique challenges and times of loneliness.

    15. Courage, wisdom, and anointing for Christian women who feel that they cannot adequately serve the Lord because of their limited education and lack of confidence (1 Corinthians 1:26-30).

    16. Wisdom and protection for women leading prayer groups and producing the Women of Hope programs in Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia. God is moving in the hearts of many who have become discouraged with the religious beliefs of their communities and are seeking the truth about God.

    17. TWR Women of Hope ladies working in Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Moldova, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.

    18. TWR staff and partners to effectively communicate the needs of TWR Women of Hope to believers who enjoy financially supporting what God is doing around the world. Pray for Dr. Peggy Banks, TWR Women of Hope’s global director, while she is in Europe Sept. 19-30 and then goes to India.

    19. Christian women to find encouragement from one another and strength in the Lord to overcome the weariness and discouragement they feel when their ministry is hindered from many sides or when prayers seem unanswered. “We are hard pressed on every side, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

    20. Those helping women to study God’s truths while learning skills that enable them to provide finances for their families in Cote d’Ivoire, Paraguay, Tanzania, and other countries.

    21. Safety and good health for women who are traveling to isolated churches to deliver TWR Women of Hope monthly prayer calendars and to encourage women to listen to Christian radio programs so those being visited can learn more about God and Scripture.

    22. Christian widows who previously ministered alongside their husbands and still have the desire but no longer the financial support to continue in ministry.

    23. Women who are caring for orphans and providing love, training, and food to young girls who have been forced from their homes, sold into slavery, or abused by relatives.

    24. Churches to enthusiastically support women who are the light to those in darkness. “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14).

    25. The TWR Women of Hope team providing the prayer calendar for Spanish-speaking intercessors and producing the Spanish Women of Hope program for listeners in more than 27 countries. Pray for wisdom as they respond to many emails from women who are struggling.

    26. Women who faithfully serve in Ghana, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and other African countries but often lack the finances needed for their ministries to continue.

    27. God’s protection and wisdom for Christian women who courageously travel to villages in Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and other countries to tell people about Christ’s love and sacrifice. They also mentor new Christians and encourage believers to walk daily with Christ Jesus.

    28. Women helping others in the Americas to grow in their knowledge of the Lord, allowing God to use them to bring hope in Jesus to people around the world.

    29. Women showing God’s love to those affected by conflicts or wars in Burundi, Central African Republic, Liberia, Mali, Rwanda, Somalia, Uganda, and other African countries.

    30. Needed staff and volunteers for TWR Women of Hope teams around the world. “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:38).
