Today I write to you from Ukraine while waiting for my flight to Romania. I’m reminded again what a joy it is to share my thoughts and love with you each month in this prayer letter. As I write this letter, I think of the apostle Paul writing to the Ephesians (Ephesians 1:15-18).
Paul continued to give thanks for the Ephesians because of their faith and love. I think prayer kept him close to those he loved. It does the same for me. As I pray for you, I feel much closer to each of you.
As we pray for mothers this month, please set aside some time to be thankful for your own mother. Whether it’s a biological mom, a spiritual mom or a special mentor – or all three! – take a few moments today and lift her up to God and be thankful for her influence in your life.
My biological mother is in heaven, but I’m still very close to my spiritual mom, Dottie. She has invested in my life for almost 30 years. This week in Ukraine, while visiting a crisis pregnancy center, I was reminded of her tremendous influence in my life. I am the woman and leader that I am because of the love and acceptance that Jesus and Dottie poured into my life.
Who is that special mom or mentor for you? Give thanks for her today. Write a special note or make a phone call and let her know that she is in your prayers.
May you know God’s love and acceptance more and more today as you meet with him in prayer. Come to prayer and meet God with an open heart and hands to receive all that he has for you today.
In Him our hearts rejoice,
