In May, we are praying for Southern Africa! Please pray...

      1. Many women and children have been left homeless by cyclones that hit the country of Mozambique. God, be the complete provision for those who have lost everything. (Ps. 46:1)
      2. Father, we pray for God-fearing leadership in Zimbabwe – in the parliament, military police, army, police and judiciary. May they embrace your righteousness and justice. (Ps. 119:1-2)
      3. Father, you established marriage as a covenant between husband and wife. Please help the people of Madagascar to understand this and to turn to you to bring unity in their marriages. (Gen. 2:24)
      4. As the TWR Women of Hope prayer-group members in Malawi turn to you, please give them wisdom and opportunities to start businesses to support their families, their churches and the economic development of the country. (Ps. 20:1-2)
      5. God, send your missionaries into Lesotho to preach the gospel and train disciples in your Word. May revival spread as people hold fast to you and your life-changing truth. (Ps. 96:3)
      6. Lord, we pray for political stability in Eswatini. May the people there walk in your peace and their leaders look to you for direction. (Lev. 26:6)
      7. Father, rescue and heal those who experience physical violence, sexual abuse, exploitation and discrimination. May your gospel change one life at a time. (Ps. 12:5-8)
      8. Lord, please provide employment and hope for those South African families left in poverty when their businesses closed during the pandemic. (Ps. 113:7)
      9. Lord, please work in the hearts of the people of Zimbabwe to bring national healing, reconciliation, peace and justice to their land. (Ps. 127:1)
      10. Father, may the men in Malawi find a safe place to share their struggles. Break this curse of men committing suicide and leaving their children in despair. (Ps. 23:4)
      11. Grant grace and peace to those students who experienced difficulty in their studies and had inconsistent school attendance during the pandemic. (Phil. 4:7)
      12. Lord, protect women in Africa from uncaring men who are infecting them with HIV/AIDS. Bring emotional and physical healing to them. (Exod. 15:26)
      13. Father, awaken your church in Eswatini, bringing revival to this entire country. May believers put you first in their lives, living out the kingdom of God before others. (Matt. 5:16)
      14. Lord, please bring healing to the African people. Many are angry because of difficulties in their past. Heal their hearts with your truth and bring them peace. (Ps. 30:10-11)
      15. Women in Lesotho are often not honored, Lord. Help its people see the value of the women, desiring to care for them and provide them equal opportunities in life. (Gal. 3:28)
      16. Lord, bring an end to the child trafficking in Africa, rescuing and healing the children caught in this evil. Convict the hearts of those who are abusing these children. (Ps. 5:11)
      17. Lord, watch over the families and finances of our TWR Women of Hope volunteers in South Africa. We are thankful for their good work in translating the prayer calendars. (Ps. 121:8)
      18. Lord, the rising prices and scarcity of goods are especially hard on widows and orphans in Malawi. Guide its leaders in bringing stability to their economic crisis. (Phil. 4:19)
      19. Father, restore the hearts and minds of the people of Zimbabwe to yourself. May your truth, peace and justice transform its people and entire society. (Ps. 20:7)
      20. God, break the chains of alcohol and substance to which many African men are addicted. May they find complete freedom in you and follow you as Lord. (Ps. 107:19-20)
      21. Father, please restore the economy of Eswatini, giving your wisdom to those who have decision-making power. May there be employment for its people and provision for all. (Prov. 3:5-6)
      22. God, empower your church in Africa to establish your kingdom here on earth. May your kingdom come; may your will be done. (Matt. 6:10)
      23. We pray for the elderly in quarantine during the pandemic. May they not be forgotten but be encouraged by visits from family and friends. (Matt. 25:36)
      24. Father, please meet the needs of those in South Africa who faithfully intercede for others and are devoted to you. (Ps. 23)
      25. We pray for Malawi, where the land has been damaged by heavy rains. As the people call to you for help, please provide shelter and be their place of safety. (Ps. 46:1)
      26. Lord, many areas within Zimbabwe need restoration. May the leaders look to you for recovery of their economic, educational and health care systems. (Jer. 33:3)
      27. Protect the children and teens who must take care of themselves and one another during school breaks and holidays while their parents are at work. (Ps. 121:7)
      28. The TWR Women of Hope ministry is hindered in some African countries because of miscommunication. May people communicate clearly and truthfully with one another. (Col. 4:6)
      29. Father, provide for and strengthen African women as they experience malnutrition, illiteracy, unemployment, child mortality, poverty, violence and a lack of resources. (Phil. 4:6)
      30. We pray that many families in South Africa will open their homes to children in orphanages during the holiday season so that no child is left behind. (Matt. 25:35)
      31. God, may the Malawi women who carry the stigma of HIV/AIDS be seen as valuable daughters created in your image. (Gen. 1:27)
