    Intimately Knit Together

    October 6, 2017 by Dr. Peggy Banks

    O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
    For you formed my inward parts;
    you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
    I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
    Psalm 139:1, 13-14 (ESV)

    Dear friends,

    God has created us; he knows every part of us. He has known us intimately because he knitted us together in our mother’s womb.

    Knitting is very interesting; my sister knows how to knit. She has tried in the past to teach me to knit. Yet I have not been able to master knitting myself. But I do know that you become intimately involved in the project when you are spending hours knitting each stitch. To think that the God of the universe has knitted us together in our mother’s womb – it’s unbelievable!

    God's Word helps us to see that the conception of the baby is not an accidental process but an intentional one. It brings us to pray and praise like David in verses 17-18:

    "How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with you."

    Please remember our special invitation to you to join us Oct. 24 as we gather for our second Global Prayer Call.
