It’s a common verse. You may see it printed on wall plaques, embroidered onto pillows or even posted over the entrance way in a home. And it is a wonderful proclamation of purpose. Which verse is it? Joshua 24:15 (ESV),
“Choose this day whom you will serve….But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD
This verse is important to us at TWR Canada. We minister to all parts of the family with an emphasis on women and children. We strive to point each family member to Christ and help them to walk in a godly manner.WOMEN
: TWR Women of Hope is our primary ministry to women. Women in many parts of the world are marginalized. They disproportionately experience high levels of poverty, lack of education, oppression and health crises. While social reforms promise empowerment of women and the end of negative family cycles, only a spiritual solution found in Jesus Christ has the power to provide sustainable change and lasting hope. Therefore, we seek to bring hope in Jesus to women around the world and across generations. We encourage, equip and engage women to pray, listen, learn, grow and give through media, small group interaction and leadership development.
As women are introduced to Jesus and gain solid biblical teaching, they encourage their families, local churches, communities and other women. Regardless of the situation, TWR Women of Hope speaks the truth that Jesus is the only one who can provide perfect peace, hope and healing. Here is just one story of how our Women of Hope
broadcasts are sharing the message of hope in Christ to women and their families.
“I am 24 years old and have four children. I want to thank you for the solar radio that you gave me. It is the first time I have received a gift like this. I am so happy. The
[Women of Hope] radio programs are excellent. We listen to all of them together as a family. I didn’t have the chance to go to school, so I do not know how to read or write. I cannot read the Bible, but I am so happy that I can listen to the Word of God from your programs. Thank you for the
Women of Hope program. I try to listen to every episode. Would you please pray for the salvation of my family so we could be one in Christ?
TWR Canada supports the global prayer movement and the Women of Hope
broadcasts in Portuguese, Umbundu, Makhuwa, French, Bambara, Farsi and Low German.MEN
: Champions, Arise!
is a program with men in mind. It recognizes that there is a great need for mentoring, encouragement and discipling of men and is designed to encourage the development of godly men, husbands and leaders through radio programming, discipleship groups and prayer.CHILDREN
: TWR Canada is translating and producing Bible stories for children in partnership with Bible Stories Alive (BSA). This is an exciting expansion of the popular radio program A Visit with Mrs. G.
from the late 1970s. These 30+ stories are dramatic re-tellings of Bible stories, teaching foundational biblical truth in engaging ways. Still aired on 100’s of stations throughout the U.S. and on satellite in Southern Africa, children learn about the lives of Adam and Eve, Joseph, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, Jesus and others. Parents often learn along with their children as it is common for families and even communities to listen together. The translated books include discussion questions to promote thoughtful engagement between adults and children.
