    No Outsiders in God's Family

The Roma people have a long and painful history. Genocide, forced labour, child abduction, poverty, deportations, forced migrations and revoked citizenship are just some of the abuses they have endured.

Since 2009, TWR has been speaking the hope of Christ to the Roma people in Macedonia through the radio program Voice of Truth. This one-hour weekly program is broadcast into the city of Prilep, where around 15,000 Roma live. The Voice of Truth gives the Roma, many of whom are illiterate, the opportunity to learn about the Christian faith in their heart language.

Pastor Edijan, who produces the program and runs the local church says, There is a lot that God has already done among the Roma in Prilep, but the work is not done yet. All these are just small, humble beginnings. I am grateful for every soul, for anyone who comes forward to ask a question, or start a conversation.

Pastor Edijan makes home visits daily and spends a lot of time talking to people and sitting in on home groups that are meeting. The atmosphere is relaxed, and people often talk about what was said in the programs.

Sabrina, who has been listening to the Voice of Truth program for years often has friends come over to listen together. “Through these programs, we have all learned how important living in friendship and cooperation is. We live in a community with people of different faiths, nationalities, and skin colour, but one thing remains the same: we are all just humans who can only be saved by the grace of God. These programs help me to love others more peacefully and to better raise my children. They give me hope even when it is difficult because I know that Jesus cares for me and loves me immensely. It's a comfort to me when the difficult moments come. These words we hear in our Romani language show us that we are not neglected, that someone cares for us as people, that we are recognized, that we are not only a people who are on the margins of society but that we have our own culture and customs. Because of all this, the Voice of Truth program means a lot to me.”

We praise God for the radio program the Voice of Truth! Join us in prayer for the team as they produce this program and work tirelessly to identify the needs of the community and respond wisely for the sake of the gospel.
